Celebrating Classics: The Mining Sector

When I hear "classic LEGO theme", I immediately think of Classic Space. This iconic theme paved the way for all the LEGO space themes, from retro themes like Blacktron to modern themes like Star Wars. In this Classic Space scene, we see a team of five astronauts and their three robotic companions exploring a foreign alien landscape and extracting the precious gems that lay beneath the planet's rocky crust. In order to capture the charm and nostalgia of this theme, I combined many of the more memorable aspects of the theme into a single united build. From using the familiar color scheme of the box art through the build, to incorporating beloved sets such as the Monorail Transport System or the Spy-Bot, this build embodies and celebrates Classic Space.
