Vintage Transportation: Penny-Farthing
The penny-farthing bicycle was invented in 1871 by a Frenchman called Eugene Mayer. Unsurprisingly, it became obsolete by the late 1880s as more modern chain-driven bicycles started to become available.
My LEGO adaptation pokes fun at the unwieldly design of this contraption - as you can see, our Victorian minifigure friend is gazing up at the saddle with much trepidation!
