Vintage Transportation: Down by the Station
I decided to base my build off the sight of a rural American railroad stop around the turn of the century. I wanted to envoke the feeling of rural American life in relation to the railroads, as they were the lifeblood for many rural communities and small towns throughout America in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
A mid-sized steam locomotive and a station platform are the two main centerpieces of this build, designed to be reminiscent of similar locomotives and structures that could be found all across small communities in the United States. The sight of nature surrounds the build. flowers bloom along the line side, while a rabbit happy chomps away at the studded grass. On the platform, the conductor eagerly awaits the train’s departure, while a lone passenger, who rode his trusted horse to the station, prepares to board the train to visit family.
