Traditional Samurai

Originally starting as armed imperial guards, the Samurai are one of my strongest associations with Japanese culture. Samurai training would often start as early as 10 years old (much alike lego building) with long days of studying Samurai philosophies and martial arts (less like lego building, haha).

I have chosen to construct a traditional Samurai for this LEGO challenge, capturing patterns and brighter contrasting colours into their plated armour. My Samurai is equipped with two Katanas, although spears were also quite popular. I have taken inspiration for the detail on the armour from images of actual Samurai armour and colour inspiration from traditional Japanese artwork of Samurai.
