Lantern Float in the Nebuta Festival
The Nebuta Festival (ねぶた祭) is a traditional Japanese summer festival and the largest one is held in Aomori City (青森). It was designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The highlight of the festival is the night parade of enormous brightly lit lantern floats called "Nebuta". The lanterns are made from paper, bamboo, and candles traditionally and pushed along the street by a group of people. The designs often depict gods, historical or mythical figures. This build refers to a historical flood control hero who resolved flooding problems with the help of dragon king.
