Feeding the Carps
Hi everyone!
This is one of my attempts at the "Celebrate Japanese Culture" challenge.
I find peach trees one of the most calm and key icons of Japanese Culture, and so I decided to built something related to them. In the end, I chose this bridge, based on real-life Midori-bashi (Midori bridge), in Ogaki.
In this scene, a father and his daughter are seen feeding some bread to the carps swimming in the river/canal, which is both a peaceful and wholesome activity. To obtain a more realistic depiction, I included a teenager and an elder enjoying the river's charm and quiteness. A pastime like that helps everyone clear their minds, even inside bustling cities. And doing it with your family just gives everything a special touch.
It was quite hard to build the sloped sides of the canal, and to include big peach trees, but the result is quite good!
Hope you like it!
