Light of Creation
An attelier in the shape of a teahouse with the colors of a temple, resembling stone and paper lanterns. It celebrates various Japanese arts and crafts: traditional and modern, physical and digital. Architecture and furniture make up the stage, on which are displayed painting, bonsai, caligraphy, metalwork, ikebana, origami, chibis, video games, anime, manga, textiles and cuisine. It also includes everyday objects and customs, like the sunken lobby and table with blanket.
A minifig in historic dress and makeup can be seated the corners, and there's plenty of accessories for play.
In the screens, satin trans clear is used for the translucency of paper, and small plates for the lattice effect. Side-build techniques and jumpers create depth. Tile and plates are used to distinguish fine-finish vs rough-finish masonry. Hinges holding the roof at an angle double as decorated trusses.
The roof can be removed easily, making it a display piece as well as a play set.
