Escape From the Truman Show
One of the movies I mostly remember from the 90s is "The Truman Show", featuring a great Jim Carrey as the leading actor.
The movie analyzed from a new point of view the concept of the “Reality Show”, which will have a great success in the following years and which is one of the pillars of today’s TV shows.
In my proposal I captured the final scene of the movie, with its very deep meaning, when Truman, the main character, leaves the false and simple world in order to start his life in the real, complicated and unpredictable one.
To do this, he has to face a strong storm by boat to reach the exit door, which is located at the bottom of a staircase, on a wall that depicts the sky and clouds of the world built for him.
“And in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!”
