Kinetic Brick Trophy

This functional trophy depicts a blue 2x2 LEGO brick (scaled up using bricks) that incorporates writing (a la modular buildings) into the sides.  I chose the color blue because it is the only color in which all of the necessary parts are currently available.  The lettering spells "FIRST LEGO LEAGUE 2018" and is rigidly attached to the brick using bar elements.  The brick can rotate on a turntable which can also rock forwards, backwards, and side-to-side at an 18-degree angle.

The base is constructed from black and light gray Technic panels and beams.  Inside the base is a mechanism that will allow the brick to tilt and rotate (like an amusement park ride) at the turn of the top gear.  The fourth image shows the internal mechanism, which has been thoroughly analyzed in every possible position to ensure that it will work.  There is room for the metal plate behind the gear.

The model contains 675 pieces, measures 10.4 x 21.6 cm base and 17.8 cm high, and is great for both display and play!
