Pulled Into a Sunset Dinner
For me, photography can either:
- take you back instantly to a time and place in your memory, or
- provide a portal into a time and place you've never seen before.
I've tried to show both of these possibilities through two "frames":
- The Polaroid frame shows how a photo snapped across the table can instantly make you feel like you're there in that moment again, sharing a meal in a cherished moment with a loved one, twirling some hot spaghetti around your fork!
- The window frame view in the photo transports you to a spectacular sunset vista, in which I tried to highlight the surreal way that mountainous natural rock appears to change colour as the sun sets.
In this way, photography lets us travel across time and distance in an instant!
I've chosen to highlight the three things I most love to photograph; natural beauty, loved ones, and food cooked with love.
I also set myself a challenge to ensure the whole build can sit level on a flat surface, with all photo elements kept in frame.
