Portal in Time

The power of photography is that it captures a singular moment in time. We exist in the continuum of time as it continually progresses forward. By looking at a photo, we step into a memory that has been soaked up by the photography medium. Here, the memory is childhood and revolves around LEGO System. I distinctly recall not adhering to the instructions and instead, built my own creations from the Space, Castle, and Pirates themes. I wanted to create a setting where friends from their respective themes traveled out to enjoy each other’s company. The curious thing is that looking at this photo, one can interpret the individuals as friends in their childhood or as older friends who have made time to reunite and relive cherished memories.
