Stargazing in Paradise
This is a depiction of a recent trip I took to Hawaii, where I had the opportunity to stargaze on the beach on the North Shore of Oahu.
I decided to represent footprints across the sand as square 1x1 tiles, to give the impression that the footprints were left by a LEGO Minifigure, and that this Polaroid Photo was taken in the LEGO World.
I wanted to keep a pixelated style as much as I could, but I also decided to have a few raised elements to accent some parts of the depiction, and to highlight the importance of certain elements. The footsteps are raised to draw focus to them. The waves on the shore are raised to give a more 3D impression of the movement of the ocean. The moon is a raised rounded 2x2 tile, because there was a full moon while I was stargazing. The stars are also raised and at a different angle than the rest of the pixelation. I also added a little hermit crab, because I enjoyed watching the little crabs on the beach during my trip (and the crab LEGO piece is so cute).
