Not in the Picture
Not in the picture:
Once there was a little boy,
Shy and coy, a polaroid his new toy.
Behind his window, he took snaps of the seasons.
Dreamt of going out for multitude of reasons.
He took photos of the spring,
Of duelling knight and the king.
Joining the kids in summer was his wildest dream,
As he watched them having fun with ice cream.
Through the lens, he watched the autumn bike ride,
As he hid behind his window’s inner side.
One day, in the winter, the kids at the door they came,
Asked if the boy cared for making a snow man frame.
One plus two made them three,
Three of them had perfect Qi.
He was afraid of rejection and neglect but now was treated with respect.
Now with him in the picture, the memories were picture perfect.
