From Polygon to Fish
Normally, a photo captures the 3-dimensional world in 2-dimensional form. Now, imagine if the opposite happens...
This build is about the transformation of a 2D polygon into a 3D fish.
The Polaroid photo is a tessellation of polygons, each made up of one big square and two small squares. One of these polygons starts wiggling its tail and makes its first push out of the Polaroid frame.
Then fins come out, allowing it to better control its movement. With an eye and scales, it's starting to take the shape of a fish. Then it grows bigger, giving it more power to jump.
As it changes course downward, it begins to become 3-dimensional, though only the front half of the body is developed. Finally, it completes its transformation into a 3D fish as it dives into the fish tank with a splash!
From 2D to 3D.
From a polygon to a fish.
From the white frame of a Polaroid to the black frame of a fish tank.
