Nature: Metamorphosis/Floral Butterfly
My twist on nature is a butterfly made of tree leaves and flower parts! We think of flowers and butterflies as equally beautiful life forms found in the garden, but it is important to remember that often times one could not exist without the other.
Additionally, I included the butterfly's whole life cycle. The adult lays eggs, and I have represented one with one of the tiniest and most loved Lego parts: the stud.
Caterpillars are often magnificently colored and may show odd patterns on their body to scare off predators. This one is made of minifigure heads with classic smileys!
Between the larval (caterpillar) and adult stages is the pupa, in which the organism is wrapped in a chrysalis and undergoes metamorphosis. Yes, those are real Lego parts: the nets are from set 79001, and inside are a lime green dish and a rocket cone draped in minifig capes.
Looking closely at the butterfly, flower plates are arranged in a nice pattern on top, and old-fashioned Lego flowers decorate the bottom.
