Nature: Giant crystal daffodil

On a strange planet, somewhere above us, there's a kind of plant that grows majestic thanks to unidentified minerals it absorbs from the ground...

This creation was inspired by the "sea daffodils" (pancratium maritimum), a flower I am used to see since i was a kid which grows only on sand by the sea, as a kid it has always astounded me how those little plants with those wonderful flowers could survive in such difficult conditions, I perfectly knew it needed water to grow, but it made me daydream about what kind of resource it could use instead...
