Nature: Lord Hornet
"An alternative nature build: Show us your take on nature with an
alternative twist, such as a humanised flower, a sci-fi plant or a
genetically modified insect! " (quote from the contest description)
It was the last suggestion that really sparked my fantasy. What would a genetically modified insect be like? Which part of it would be modified? If I did it, I would have made the insect more human like. Thats why I gave it an opposable thumb and high inteligence and that's how Lord Hornet was created.
He would describe himself not only as the husband of Hive-Queen Hornetta, but also as a classical gentleman. As you can see he enjoys a fancy suit, a good glass of nectar aswell as reading an interesting book in his compfy chair.
The build itself consists of 964 pieces and is places on a 32 x 32 baseplate. I chose the color scheme to be a little darker to create a nice contrast to the bright hornet and to make the "room" more cozy. The biggest challenge defenitly was creating the head.
