Explore/Wander, Get Quite Lost, Then Enjoy the Puzzle of Finding the Way Back!
I’d explore the area; search for secrets and serene spots. Deviate from the marked paths to discover and tread where others might not have.
Then, after intentionally getting lost, and armed with just a compass and map (strictly not digital/GPS-based), I'd commence an always-different and old-school Orienteering puzzle of plotting an interesting route back.
There’s rarely just one route/way to any single somewhere, and the decisions behind every turn in a journey are unique to each traveller; routes determined by whims. So this model has an interchangeable structure instead of being a fixed composition, to feel open and unconstrained like the pathfinding process itself.
The 18 scenes (places I might find) neatly connect like jigsaw pieces. Each a movement in the journey; blue dots mark footsteps. Starts with ’Compass & Map Ready!’; leads to ‘Arrival at the Cabin’. But any combination of ‘forwards, lefts or rights’ can be placed between the two. A expression of navigational freedom.
