Autumn in the Mountains

I actually live in a mountain log cabin. My favorite activity depends on the season of the year. 

I enjoy the nighttime around a large bonfire in the autumn with the moon shinning on the lake. Listening to a friend playing the guitar and singing, toasting marshmallows, enjoying the nightlife (frogs, spiders, bats, flying squirrels, and owls), and observing the stars, moon, and comet flying across the dark sky. The landscape is punctuated by trees (pines, oak, maple, and aspens) and flowers (apricot mallow, wood’s rose, and arctic gentian). And, there are always a few unidentified eyes watching from the darkness.
