The Way Forward...
Looking back is can be an effective method for finding uncommon ideas. A century ago, futurists were often quite imaginative when it came to predictions of the shapes of things to come. This Harley-Davidson machine is inspired by some of those old notions but incorporates many features Pulp Era prophets could never have guessed at. The rider is enclosed within the fuselage, which is transparent from the inside. There is no chain driving the rear wheel. Instead, the engine spins a very large bearing that transmits the movement.
And in contradiction to its 100-year old design origin it is quite capable of reaching any future finish line. Some things never change. Sometimes that’s good.
The Retrofuturist is built using 279 pieces.
