MARS...The Next Great "Moment In Space"

My entry for this contest honors all of the people who are planning to take humankind to Mars.

This "moment in space" will happen when the first human walks on Mars, as represented by the orange tile footprints.  And the astronauts are prepared with cameras to document the event.

The color scheme for my Mars Lander was chosen to evoke the nostalgia of earlier spacecraft.  And the Mars Lander is designed to separate into two parts, to increase the play factor.  The top half separates from the lower half while it ascends from the Martian surface.

Attached to one of the Mars Lander's legs is a wrench/spanner (and a golf club for some fun on the Martian surface).  And there is an antenna dish at the top of the Mars Lander which tilts back and forth so that our brave astronauts can send their images home for all of us to enjoy.

This kit contains 171 pieces and is appropriate for intermediate-skill LEGO builders.
