Architecture: The Wall of the Forest

Short:

Urban forests will play a even greater role in near future, when cities become even denser than it already is.

In order to protect the biodiversity and the serenity of such forest from the light and sound pollution of the city, a wall that allows nature and humans to live in harmony was created.

The model depicts the cross section of such wall.

The ground floor of the wall is composed of man-made columns that doubles acts as nest the houses the birds living in the forest. Visitors can stroll along the nests and listen to the chanting birds, even in the case of a rain.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor are made of housing space that opens up on the forest, allowing the residents to bath in the view offered by the forest.

A large glass wall separates the structure from the city, stopping the city noise from getting through while giving people a glimpse of the forest to make them wanna go in.
