Nature: Sloth and Woodpecker

This is a story about friendship. 

The sloth, Winslow, stayed in the tree almost his whole life. He rarely smiled. He had no friends. 

One day, a woodpecker came and stopped on the tree. Winslow felt quite excited when he saw her. He had never seen a bird’s beak peck as fast as hers. Winslow longed to be able to talk to her, but it never happened. Because whenever he climbed to where she was, she flew away. Winslow was a sloth, and he moved very very slowly. However, he still kept trying to get to close to her, even if he missed it, he didn’t give up.

Long days passed, on a super lucky day, the woodpecker stopped near Winslow! He plucked up the courage to say, “Hi, my name is Winslow.” The woodpecker gave him a sweet smile. Then Winslow knew her name was Riri. They became good friends. 

Every time, Riri came, she would share interesting news from around the world with him. After all, Winslow, the sloth, likes to smile, and feels very happy every day!
