Architecture: Parthenon Reconstruction (5th Century BC)
A presumable reconstruction of the Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis in the 5th century BC, the peak of Athenian power.
The focal point of the temple was the chryselephantine (gold and ivory) statue of Athena Parthenos (the maiden/virgin) sculpted by Phidias - one of the greatest artist at this time, also known for his statue of Zeus in Olympia, one of the seven world wonders. In her right hand she is holding a statue of Nike (goddess of victory) and at her feet lies the Aegis, in between a serpent.
Because of the near deadline and the fact, that I unfortunately didn’t have currently all parts in the right colours at hand, I decided to go on digital. Model is completely able to be built with real bricks. Only exception here is the statue of Athena. Some parts I intended to use weren’t available in Stud.io and I had to make a workaround by colouring other parts in Pearl Gold. Roof can be take off to reveal full interior.
I built also the Parthenon in its modern appearance.
