Architecture - Schröder House of Gerrit Rietveld
Schröder House, built in 1924 in Utrecht, is one of the most representative work designed by Gerrit Rietveld, one of the principal members of the Dutch artistic movement called De Stijl. Rietveld is famous for his Red and Blue Chair and for this Schröder House, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Thd idea of the house is generated from the famous work of Piet Mondrian. The compact, geometric, prismatic shape with 3 primary colours red, blue, yellow of this house is too fascinating and attractice to believe that it was built 100 years ago. Also it is very suitable for the lego brick construction.
The entire model building process is quite the same as constructing a real house——the layout defined first, and then window/ingress/stairs positioned and finally walls fulfilled brick by brick (although the real Smith House itself is built by wood not brick).
Hope you could like it, and thanks in advance for your support!
