Nature: Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis is the drastic and abrupt physical change that some animals (usually types of amphibians and insects) undergo as a normal part of their lifecycle. The most well known example is the change from caterpillar to butterfly, and that's what I have chosen to represent as a lenticular mosaic.
A lenticular image is created by combining 2 separate images into 1 picture, so that when viewed from one angle you see one image and from a different angle you see the other image. A true lenticular image relies on tiny lenses to work but the effect can be recreated using Lego "cheese slopes".
Viewing my build from the front it appears to be a jumble of shapes and colours. However, looking at it from the left hand side reveals a caterpillar crawling along a leaf, and from the right, you see a beautiful butterfly taking to the air - its metamorphosis complete!
