Nature: The Golden Worm
Earthworms are one of our planet's most important creatures. Their ability to break down dead organic matter and convert it into fertile, nutrient rich soil makes them vital to many land based ecosystems and it's fair to say that, without earthworms, our world would look very different.
This importance has long been recognised - Aristotle referred to them as "The intestines of the Earth" and Charles Darwin spent over 40 years studying them (a book of his findings even outsold the Origin of the Species and became his best selling book during his lifetime!).
However, earthworms do seem to suffer from a bit of an image problem and most people tend to overlook them. So in recognition of their importance, I present to you... the limited edition Golden Earthworm!
