Nature:Lear's Macaw (Anodorhynchus Leari)
I built this Lego Lear’s macaw with a small tree to raise awareness that we are destroying the habitat of many types of animals and that a lot of animals are on the endangered list. For over a century after the Lear’s macaw was described, the whereabouts of the wild population was unknown. In 1983, the global population was estimated to be about 60 birds. The population of Lear’s macaws was about 1100 to 1200 in 2010 and it rose to 1300 in 2015, which means that they downgraded to endangered from critically endangered.
The primary diet of the Lear’s macaw is the licuri palm nut. But cows can easily step on the roots of a young licuri palm and killing them. Luckily, they also eat Melanoxylon, Atropha pohliana, Dioclea, Spondies, tuberosa, Zea mays, Schinopsis brasiliensis, and Agave flowers.
I used a small stand to support this build and I added some flowers to decorate the base. I also added some details to it such as the yellow patch at the beak.
I hope you like it.
