Architecture: The French Château De Chenonceau
The Château de Chenonceau is one of the best-known French châteaux of the Loire valley, spanning the River Cher. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site visited by 900,000 tourists per year. It is an exceptional example of French renaissance architecture.
The first château was medieval, dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, of which only the dungeon remains: the Tour des Marques. The château in its current form was built between 1513 and 1517, by Thomas Bohier and mostly by his wife, Catherine Briçonnet.
This set includes the main building with 6 towers, the dungeon (the Tour des Marques), and the bridge. There is a small boat on the river and a hot air balloon flying above this exceptional touristic site. There are 5 large trees built with bricks, representing the forest on the edges of the river. This set is made with 1921 pieces.
I really enjoyed building this set. It has been very challenging for me because it’s the first architecture set I've ever made. I hope you enjoy it :)
