The Largest Ball of Yarn on the Road
Giant balls of yarn are a typical USA roadside attraction, so maybe it's time they hit the road themselves! Nothing stops the intrepid rider, who can knit and drive at the same time -even with her eyes closed!
Granted, a giant ball on wheels is rather unstable (and its only "safety" features are the front and rear lights), but the yarn itself is a massive crumple zone that would barely be damaged in a collision. And if it unravels, the rider can stop and knit it back into a ball!
The structure is essentially a Lowell sphere, with the studs reversed (that is, studs facing up) at the bottom so they can attach to the small chassis. Then it is covered in tan and dark tan curved slopes, to give the impression of tangled yarn. The knitting needles are held by technic pins inside. It was tricky to work within the brick limit, but after some carefully considered replacements, I managed to complete it with 299 bricks.
