Live in Concert
This poster is inspired by many of the classic screen-printed concert posters. The modern art movement was in full swing at the same time as jazz was originating, and the two fit the Jazz Era of the 1920's very well. Abstract shapes were used to communicate the subject instead of realism. The brick-built figures of the Jazz Quartet lend themselves well to the aesthetic as they are already blocky abstractions. I thought they were a good fit to include in an homage to early jazz screen-printed concert posters
