Futuristic: O'Neill Cylinder
Earth is now a desolated planet, every square centimetre of it is burnt to a crisp. Climate change has finally taken over making the heat in the Earth's atmosphere unbearable. What was left of the human population have now all boarded a huge fleet of O'Neill cylinders, each capable of holding up to 1 million people. We've now been orbiting Earth for years in this beautiful structure, full of new found hope, peace and prosperity for the human race.
This build is my take on a futuristic O'Neill cylinder, a space settlement concept first proposed by Gerard K. O'Neill in 1974. It is hollow on the inside, however due to time constraints it is not detailed there. (Although it's really hard to see inside let alone get an image to show everything anyways).
If your interested about this concept and how it works like I was, here is the link to Gerard O'Neill's original paper on it: https://space.nss.org/the-colonization-of-space-gerard-k-o-neill-physics-today-1974/
