Musical: Chinese Oriental Garden
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FILL BYGGLEK WITH WATER? In this build, I combine real-life water, FOG, BYGGLEK, and Oriental elements into a Chinese pond, with a harpist playing the Guzheng at the side. Real fog surrounds the river. This was done by combining two BYGGLEKs, siliconed, with a water atomiser.
The year 2019 is significant. It is the year LEGO released the Treehouse set, with the highest number of sustainable bricks ever made in a set. The use of oriental elements is also significant, as LEGO first released Chinese-themed sets in 2020.
The Chinese proverb, "To know a fish go to the water; To know a bird's song go to the mountains" (近水知鱼性, 近山识鸟音) decorates the front. Translated, it means to understand someone, one must have the patience, and empathy to go into the person's home, sit down and make dialogue. It is a value that we all need, in the world today, especially now. A Chinese koi graces the facade, a playful allude to the proverb.
