Concept: TrashBot

This robot is designed to scoop up trash (or LEGO bricks) and put them in the tub on its back. It uses 2 technic pieces that look like scoops attached on some technic bars, all attached to a large motor that is hooked up to an EV3 block as arms. For legs it has a simple setup of treads and 2 more large motors. On top is an ultrasonic sensor, which can see when there is a discrepancy in the surface, and assumes it needs picked up. When this happens it activates the LEGO MINDSTORMS code in the LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Programming app. This code would make the scoops slide under the object and come together, and then flip it backwards into the tub on the back.

This entry was inspired something I remember from 9th grade. I made something similar out of EV3 parts in one of my classes, but didn‘t have any pictures of it. I tried to represent it in this drawing, but I don’t remember it exactly.

Thanks for checking out my submission,
