Concept: Pet's Food Dispenser

I never had a chance to play with LEGO Mindstorm. I don't know very well how LEGO Mindstorm work, so here is my concept drawing.

This food dispenser will work in the presence of your pet and an empty (or almost empty) food bowl. 2 sensors are used in this innovation -ultrasonic sensor to detect the pet and colour sensor to check if the bowl is epmty or not. This could reduce food wastage. The most important is, your pet will always get fresh supply.
