Build: EV3 Pusher - Mini Golf

This model is designed to drive, push & strike balls; and play robotic Mini Golf. We designed it and programmed it with my kids. We used three EV3 large motors:
  • Two motors to drive the robot
  • Another large motor to push balls
We experimented with both large and medium motors. With the large motor it strikes balls really well.

We used EV3DEV firmware: https://www.ev3dev.org/    and programmed the robot in Python to communicate with Sony PlayStation controllers. The program is relatively big and it won't fit a screenshot. However, EV3DEV has good examples of connecting EV3 brick and Sony PlayStation controllers over Bluetooth. It shouldn't be a problem if someone wants to do something similar.

Finally we created a program that works with two PS3 controllers at the same time. The players do not need to pass controllers each other. They can take control of the robot by pushing PS button on controllers shown on the first picture. We had so much fun building this robot and playing mini golf with it.
