Concept: LiCA: A Director’s Best Friend
LiCA, or Lights Camera Action, is a robot to help with your video making dreams. LEGO is great for stop motion videos, but with LiCA’s help you can now take immersive action shots. The way LiCA works is that it has a spot for a smart phone, for the video, that is attached to moving arms connected to a rotating base. LiCA also has a color sensor and wheels so it can roll along. While in motion if the color detector senses a change, the arms will move, extend, rotate, etc. all while the camera is rolling, so the director can get that impressive action shot. It is inspired by the amazing camera motion innovation that came out of ILM for Star Wars: A New Hope during the attack on the Death Star. No movie is complete without the help of LiCA.
