Concept: Robo Clock
The robo clock is designed to be used in our daily lives. It uses two motors and a motion sensor and has the following features:
In display mode, it functions as a regular analog clock, the minute hand is connected to the yellow circle gear rack which is moved by the 9 o’clock positioned motor. The other 3/6/12 o'clock gears are connected to the back frame to keep the yellow circle in place. The hour hand is moved by the center motor. Each motor’s rotation amounts are calculated in the program.
When there is a motion detected by the sensor, the main hub will also display and read out the time.
In learning mode, this unit becomes an educational toy. The clock hands can be moved around manually, and each motor will track its rotation. The time will be calculated and then displayed on the hub.
In game mode, the hub will randomly generate a time and user will have to move the hands to match the corresponding time. When correct, hub will display a smiley face and make cheering sound.
