The Ice Rink: TIE Chasing an X-Wing Fighter, and ATAT Rescue of a 501st Strom Trooper

I built an ice rink featuring the misfortunes of the 501st clone troopers. C3PO made a wand out of of snow, and to his surprise the magic was real and after slipping on his skate an innocent trooper turned into a Christmas tree (the force is peculiar with this one)! A second trooper accidentally cut through the ice with a light saber, only to be rescued by Darth Vader with a remote-control ATAT.

I incorporated Power Functions as creative elements to the build. The ice rink lights up from underneath. I also tackled a difficult building technique and figured out a means to create a rotating base around an otherwise stationary object, in this case a holiday tree. Under one holiday tree a train rotates carrying various light sabers, and over the second a TIE fighter chases an X-wing over holiday presents. Each are powered by a single shared motor unit. I left a window open in the back of the build to offer insight into the axle assembly. May the force build with you.
