Twister (1996)
"It's the wonder of nature, baby!"
I've brought the iconic 90's blockbuster Twister into LEGO with this recreation of the final act of the movie, where Jo and Bill face off against the dreaded F5 tornado! This movie has always sat in the very last spot of our family DVD collection, and it's stood strong for me as an absolutely classic disaster film.
The F5 itself uses different overlapping slopes to give off a windy look. Inside the tornado is the shed Jo and Bill take refuge in and a sub-vortex that has swept up all of Dorothy IV's tracking sensors.
The set features 13 minifigures, including the entire group of tornado chasers (from left to right on the display stand): Laurence, Joey, Haynes, Beltzer, Jonas, Aunt Meg, Jo, Bill, Melissa, Dusty, Rabbit, Sanders, and Preacher. The set also has 3 vehicles: Bill's red pickup truck, Dusty's Barn Burner van (with its own platform that can be connected to the main build), and a Benthic Petroleum tanker (with a swappable middle section).
