One Piece: Romance Dawn

One Piece is one of the greatest manga and anime series ever made, becoming the best selling manga series of all time with 500 million copies in print. It debuted back in 1997, with its anime adaptation following in 1999 and continues to this very day. For someone who has followed this series for two decades, it is little wonder why I would love to see it turned into Lego form. I know there are countless more around the world who would too.

For this challenge, I took the series back to the beginning, to the Romance Dawn and the iconic Going Merry ship. This was back when the true boundless scope of this world was far simpler. This is truly the fun pirate adventure that author Eiichiro Oda always wanted to write. Here Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates set sail across the East Blue in search of the mysterious One Piece treasure. Joining him is swordsmen Zoro, navigator Nami, sniper Usopp, and cook Sanji. I tried to recreate this ship as fatefully as I could in Minifigure scale.
