Steampunk Spider Tank (Wild Wild West 1999)

This is Dr. Loveless's Steampunk Spider Tank from the 1999 film Wild Wild West. The model has 4125 pieces and supports its own weight. Each leg has 3 moveable joints. The head and belly turret also move. The set includes three minifigures: Captain James West, Artemis Gordon, and Dr. Arliss Loveless, complete with his steam-powered wheelchair.

Though not as popular as other films of the decade, Wild Wild West was one of my favorites growing up, not least because of this awesome spider. The spider looks great in Lego and would make for a fun play set. I also have always loved the steampunk aesthetic, and it would be awesome to see an official steampunk-style Lego set.

This was my first time using a virtual building software, and there was a steep learning curve. Even so, I managed to finish the build with 4 hours to spare! I would have liked to add more greebling to the hull, and I wasn't able to add the cables going down the legs because flexible parts are finicky in the Studio.
