Olympus Mons Observatory
A thin atmosphere makes for clear skies on Mars! Located on the Red Planet's tallest mountain, Olympus Mons Observatory helps Martian astronomers map the stars and distant planets. The main optical telescope is modeled after high-powered telescopes found in Earth's observatories, using a sodium laser guide star for precision imaging. Also onsite is another, smaller telescope, a communications hub, and a rover for transport and external repairs.
Consisting of 171 pieces, Olympus Mons Observatory features three repositionable units. The main telescope can swivel up and down, and has a detachable laser beam. Its housing can rotate 360 degrees and has sliding shutter doors. The secondary telescope also swivels.
