The Night Sky
The human fascination with space began with the stars... and the naming of constellations was one of humanity's first attempts to make sense of space. This set is a display piece which allows the builder to display one (or more) of their favorite constellations. The display area is built on top of a small drawer that can hold the extra "star" pieces. This allows you to change out constellations whenever you feel like it without worrying that any extra stars will get lost. I've included a display of 4 different constellations here but of course there are many, many more possibilities to build.
The main picture contains Orion, one of my personal favorites. Also included are Ursa Major (the big dipper), Hercules, and Canis Major (which contains a star named "Sirius", the brightest star visible from Earth's surface and visible in both hemispheres).
