Friendship Rocket

Elisabeth stepped forward, her heart racing in a mix of excitement and wonder and anticipation. First contact. It was really happening. Right here, and she was going to be part of it. She looked at the alien, for there was no other word to use, standing across from her, so very similar and yet so different. She wished she could glean some insight to what it might be thinking. Does it feel as she did? Scared and excited all at once? Was this First Contact for them, too? Perhaps in time those answers would come but today, all she could offer was this token. A small, simple gesture of peace and friendship and the promise of more to come. With a smile on her face, she reached out, offering the token and her heart fluttering as she saw the alien raise it's own hand to receive it...
