Diamond Twin Racer
The 1st generation of spacemen were explorers, the 2nd generation settlers and now the 3rd generation just want to play:
“Do you want to have a race around the moon” against my new
spacecraft, powered by twin plasma ‘nuclear lightbulb’ fission reactors
producing mega-tonne thrusts channeled through the diamond shaped outlets. The
plasma engines can be placed either forward or aft of the pod, and turning the
black gear rotates the engine inlets to begin the fission reaction. The
spacepod is symmetrical so the spaceship and spaceman can be turned upside down
to have the engines above the pod.
As a child Lego was always using the latest available space
pieces to produce futuristic designs that had never been seen before which I
hope to continue. As it is not possible to determine the gravitational stresses
in a computer drawing I needed to physically build this spacecraft in Lego to ensure
the hull integrity of the spacepod could take the forces applied to it by the distant
engines in the 1st photo.
