Abandonment: The Escape of the Weasleys' Car
After being denied access to platform 9 3/4 in the second book, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley decide to take the Weasleys' flying car to Hogwarts. After being almost hit by a train and becoming heavily damaged by the school's resident Whomping Willow, the young wizards are flung from the car, which then makes its escape into the Forbidden Forest.
This scene shows the car as it speeds away from Harry and Ron, who can only stand and watch helplessly. The walls of the castle around them are masterfully detailed with simulated brickwork, and digitally-edited glowing bricks perfectly capture the illuminated after-dark scene from near the start of the book and movie. Through a window, a disappointed Professor Snape looks on, ready to punish the boys for their actions. Behind is a dark rendition of the rest of Hogwarts, including iconic buildings such as the great hall and clock tower; they use forced perspective to appear vast and complete.
