The Journey to Hogwarts
Harry has certainly gone through a lot over the years on his
trips to Hogwarts, but nothing is quite as a iconic as Harry’s first year when
the reader gets to experience Hogwarts through Harry's eyes for the first time.
It begins at Number 4 Privet Drive, when on September 1st Harry finally
got to escape the despicable Dursleys. At the train station he passes through the barrier
onto Platform 9 3/4 and aboard the Hogwarts Express.
After a long journey they reach Hogsmeade station. There’s a
small forest behind the station, featuring the Womping Willow, Aragog, and
Hagrid’s hut peaking from behind some trees.
“Firs’ years over here!” Hagrid calls. He leads them along a
path to the lake’s shore where they cross using small boats and climb up
to the entrance. At last, the students line up in the Great Hall ready for the
Sorting Hat to sort them into houses. The Great Hall interior can be seen from
behind the build – also notice the brown Sorting Hat sitting above the door.
