Crash Landing Into the Whomping Willow

For this model I decided to build one of my favorite scenes from the Harry Potter series: Harry and Ron's crash landing into the Whomping Willow. This model features a pedestal on which the Whomping Willow sits with Ron's dad's car perched in the branches. My favorite part of the design is where the trunk wraps around itself and blends into the root system. I accomplished this by using ball joints that  wrapped around a core, creating the livley effect of the Whomping Willow.
