My entry to the Head Back To Hogwarts Contest...
Heading back to Hogwarts is always exciting especially when you get to arrive on a ‘self moving’ carriage or so that’s what you think...
The carriage is moved by Thestrals, magnificent creatures that look scary at first but are “really quite gentle” Luna says in the Order of the Phoenix.
Meeting Luna Lovegood moc is inspired by a back to school scene in the fifth movie. This is one of my favourite scenes in the movie and it features Harry, Hermione, Ron, Neville, Luna and of course the magnificent Thestral. I wanted to recreate the magic and friendship of this scene so I started out with making the carriage and then the brick-built Thestral. I also added in a path and some trees that I made to add some scenery and depth to the model.
I really enjoyed making this moc and I hope you like it as much as I do. I put a lot of effort into it and it is displayed proudly on my Lego shelf.
